Esteban Mazzoncini was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1970. From an early age Mazzoncini began to travel the world, visiting over 48 countries, including Afghanistan, Poland, Vietnam, Brazil, Honduras, Turkey, India, United States, Russia, Egypt, Finland, South Africa, Kenya, Peru, France, Hungary, Jordan, Uruguay, Greece, Austria, England and Nepal.
In 1996, Mazzoncini began a self-taught study of photography. He later took a basic course at the University of Belgrano, and in 2003 studied Photojournalism I & II at the Argentine Association of Graphic Journalism (ARGRA - Asociación de Reporteros Gráficos de la República Argentina).
In 2004, Mazzoncini completed various courses and workshops with Don Rypka, Tony Valdez, Eduardo Gil and Daniel Merle. That same year he also participated in the ARGRA-produced documentary, “Ten Years of Argentine Democracy.” In 2005, Mazzoncini took part in UNICEF-Argentina book project “Infancias Varios Mundos.”
He also started contributing to “First” magazine, publishing photos and articles on Tanzania and Vietnam. Mazzoncini completed an internship with the “Pagina 12” daily. During this time, his works were shown in various individual and group exhibitions, covering his travels and his photojournalistic projects. Mazzoncini currently contributes to Lugares, Gabo and First magazine, as well as "La Naciòn" newspaper, Envy Model Agency and various freelance assignments.
